Beyond Borders Review (A Must Read!)

Beyond Borders is a film that i think is supposed to be about starving people in poverty stricken countries. What the film ends up being about.. who knows? Irena and I put this movie on with no knowledge of what is was about (which is the way i actually like to watch movies.) It started off fine and i was intrigued for the first half hour. Basically Jolie's character gets inspired to go and live with poor Ethiopians for two days. She gives them her life savings and i guess does what she can to help the cause. The film presents you with some disturbing images (computer enhanced) of starving people with flies around them. In that case the film does it's job but then the whole movie goes to shit after the first half hour. She starts playing a piano in the middle of the desert. Wait let me say that again... She starts playing a piano in the middle of the DESERT in fucking ETHIOPIA and the main doctor guy "Falls in love with her" because of that. They barely talk to each other. She goes back to london and starts working for the U.N. Then she finds out that the doctor is in cambodia and she wants to go there to see him. She knows that its really dangerous there and she could die. She doesn't care about leaving her husband or child alone. She goes and of course people die and she barely escapes. She has sex with the doctor and then comes back to London. Note that they have spent about 1 or 2 days together in their entire life. Then he gets kidnapped somewhere near russia (forget the country.) and she has to go and risk her life again to save him but wait.. now she has a second kid and it's his. Of course she gets pregnant the first time she has sex with him and of course he doesn't pull out. He just lets it explode in there. So he gets kidnapped and she leaves her two kids behind to go save him and then she dies and now her two kids have no mother. The end. What a horrible stupid ass waste of time. Way to take a good idea and smear shit and period blood all over it.



Ok so i went to the IMDB message board to see what the retards over there were saying about it and of course there are people who loved this movie. I just want you to read one of the posts and this will show you the intelligence level of the people who like this movie. Please take notice that instead of using the word "movies" they keep writing "movie." Also instead of saying the word "fell" they keep writing "felt." Overall it looks like a 2 year old or a retarded person wrote this and that's exactly what you would have to be to like this garbage. A 2 year old or retarded.

"Beyond Borders" is one of my favorite movie of all time. I also love Kingdom of Heaven, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean or Munich.

But this movie has something. I borrowed it almost one/two years ago from Blockbuster (and now I own it on DVD). I saw King Arthur and felt in love with Clive Owen. So I wanted to watch more movies with him.

This movie is absolutly amazing. It shows you the poorness in other countries. Next to it, there is a wonderful love story. But the love story is not overdone. It has the right touch for the movie.
The acting is breathtaking. Clive Owen cries a few times in this movie - an actor who can cry (it is unusual). I completly felt in love with his character Nick - the second he appeared on screen. Also Angelina is amazing.

It is sad that this movie did not get much attention in theater. I missed the movie in theater, because I did not knew of this movie.
I would give Clive, Angelina and the movie an Oscar.

I think it is a must see movie. Watch it. It is breathtaking.
