This afternoon i went to the theater myself to watch the new horror movie "Quarantine." I love horror movies (Even though i think majority of them are shit.) and i really like seeing them with an empty theater. There is nothing worse than seeing a horror movie with a bunch of idiots in the theater laughing the whole time. Sitting in a empty or almost empty theater watching a horror film really enhances the fear factor to me.
Anyway i didn't know what to expect and i have to say that i was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the best horror movie i have ever seen by any stretch but it was good for what it was. Basically it's like cloverfield. The whole thing is shot with a hand held camera and the actual movie you are watching is just footage from this one even that happened in the past. It was much more scary than Cloverfield though. Movies don't really scare me much but sometimes i can get creeped out and when i left i was a little. I guarantee you though, if i would have seen this in a packed theater i would probably not feel the same way.
The story is interesting and i liked how it ended. The acting is well done and the film makers did a great job of knowing when and when not to show the audience certain "Scary" moments. The camera didn't bother met at all, i know that was a complaint of some peoples in Cloverfield. Also, there wasn't a gay love story. FINALLY! For once there wasn't a sappy, fake ass, forced love story. For that alone i will give this movie a good rating! That formula is as old as Jesus's balls and it's refreshing when it's not shoved down your throat.
In conclusion i would recommend this film if you like such films as:
28 days later, 28 weeks later, Cloverfield, Halloween, etc...

My friend saw this and said she liked it too. I'm digging the lack of love story.
