Ok so someone real has to explain Facebook and Twitter to me. From what i understand Facebook is like myspace but you can't design your own page and you cant have a band page. Wow sounds great. So why is everyone using it now instead of myspace when myspace can do more and was already there in the first place? Yes i have a facebook account but the only reason i even signed up for it was because apparently everyone is using that now and i find myself logging in once a month. Even my mom is on facebook now and while i love my mom, that makes me NOT want to use it.
Another new fad is twitter. So let me get this straight. Twitter is a website that basically took the worst part of myspace and facebook and turned it into a website... ok. i guess that's cool but not really. I mean who really gives a shit what someone is doing 24/7. That website is the most boring, ridiculous, POS i have ever seen. Is everyone going crazy?
Failbook and Twitter someone help me?

Facebook is infinitely better than myspace because it has a much better user interface. Letting people design their own pages is OK to a certain extent but when you allow people to do this you are also making it harder for people to use the website because you have to learn how to navigate every single profile. There is no band page feature because it is a social networking site and I don't think these things should necessarily go hand-in-hand in the first place.
As for Twitter... well I guess you either Tweet or you don't get it... but the main purpose of Twitter isn't to say what you are doing 24/7 it is to keep people up to date with certain aspects of your life. Nobody Tweets about going for a shit, but its nice to be able to say "Going in for my interview now... wish me luck" without having to wade through profile picture updates, wall updates, mafia wars requests etc to see your friends say "good luck bud"
I shall explain both.
Facebook: Simple interface. Lack of html customization stops you from seeing some idiots flashy myspace page. It feels more organized and the main features of each page are in the same location of every page. There are band pages, so it's not really lacking in that department.
Twitter: I use twitter to ask people questions and talk about things. I can talk to Linux developers about certain programs and talk to select people on there. I can also promote a new song on there. Since people crave popularity on there they will most likely listen to it and respond with "I like it" or something. Either way it gives you publicity. For the average person, Twitter is mostly useless.
I can only repeat what the other posts have said. Facebook has a cleaner, more simple look/feel and is a bit easier to use. Then there´s the other answer that easier to understand = it´s the latest fad. I wouldn´t be surprised if Twitter completely takes over soon and Facebook turns into Myspace. Only to have the next ¨big thing¨ pop up and repeat the process all over again. The internet is an everchanging thing and I doubt there will ever be one INFINITE social network site. Anyone remember Friendster?
As for Twitter...that really is a worthless, time-consuming piece of garbage. I can see no use for it in my life. Then again, I said the same thing about Facebook and Myspace before that. Who knows? Maybe it´s when we FEEL a need to have a social network site in our lives that we suddenly understand their importance. Really it all boils down to people having too much time on their hand and not knowing how to dispose of it properly.
Turn off the computer, read a book, go outside.
well i guess i like the html customization. Facebook reminds me to much of private school uniforms. Also i never really used myspace for social networking i used it for promoting my music and dj'ing mostly. So the fact that facebook is all about social networking i won't be using it and wasting even more time on that boring ass site.
As far as twitter goes i will never understand this bullshit. If i ever start twatting someone send me to the moon, please.
Facebook has a 'stream of consciousness' style to it..up-to-the minute, rather than reloading the Myspace page numerous times. Also, Myspace has a lot of extra 'junk' on it's pages that make it feel cramped and cluttered. Facebook streamlines all of this in a nice little, addicting package. If you've got a band, I would still suggest to keep the Myspace - the music pages are still a valuable resource - and something that Facebook can't compete with. Don't even get me started on Twitter..just uttering that word makes me shudder with disgust.
