I am a huge Kubrick fan and i wanted to go back and check out some of his black and white movies. I started with The Killing. The film is about a group of people planning to commit a robbery (kind of like the oceans 11 movies.) But this movie doesn't show them as the good guys as it does in the modern films. One thing i noticed is that if you have a good script, good acting and a great director you don't need a budget to make a good movie.
Contrast this movie with Transformers 2. While i liked TF2 for what it is "The Killing" is a better movie and i would rather watch it any day. As with most older movies there is a moral to this movie and its very fitting. I recommend it if you don't mind watching black and white.
