It's no secret that the music selections of Quentin Tarantino play a big part in how well his films are presented and received. The songs and scenes play so well off each other that his soundtracks are often just as memorable as his films. In celebration of this and the release of Inglorious Bastards this weekend, Spinner.com has created a list of Quentin Tarantino's 10 Best Music Moments (which you can check out here). This is a great countdown, but narrowing it down to just 10 isn't enough for me. Look, I understand that trying to make a list like this and picking out which songs are best can be difficult, but I can't help but feel that some were overlooked (personally, Kill Bill Vol. 1 has a lot more songs that could've been added). So, here are few moments that I think should have made the list, but first here's an interview with Q talking about the songs in his films. Enjoy.
Now onto my choices (in no particular order):
Across 110th Street - Bobby Womack (from Jackie Brown)
Bang, Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) - Nancy Sinatra (from Kill Bill Vol. 1)
*note: this is the only good clip I could find. it's kind of long.
The Lonely Sheperd - James Last & Chorghe Zamfir (from Kill Bill Vol. 1)
*note: damnit it's in German!
Twisted Nerve - Bernard Herrmann (from Kill Bill Vol. 1)
*note: this song is creepy
Battle Without Honor Or Humanity - Tomoyasu Hotei (from Kill Bill Vol, 1)
*note: promise this is my last KB Vol. 1 entry
Goodnight Moon - Shivaree (from Kill Bill Vol. 2)
*note: shitty quality, but it'll do
Riot In Thunder Alley - Eddie Berman (from Death Proof)
