Carlos Baldión Martini was born in Guatemala, but moved to the U.S. as a teenager and it is here that he developed his craft as a painter. He primarily deals with oil, acrylics, and ink on canvas and because of this (to me) his work has a comic book feel to it. I really like how he sets the background with one solid color while forcing the eye to focus on the main object in black & white. If they haven't already, I can definitely see his paintings being used as album covers for bands. Check out more of Carlos' creations here.
