Brokeback Mountain Review

I am trying to write my first movie script. I can't post the idea on here but trust me, the idea is a good one. It's just a matter of me writing a good script (long shot.) So i have been getting the rough draft together and i needed some more ideas and inspiration so Irena and I sat down this weekend and watched 3 movies that I feel could help my cause.

I had heard all kinds of rumors and "crazy" things about this movie. I really didn't have a desire to see it until i started writing my own script. I am glad i did though because it turned out to be a good movie. It's about two cowboy's in 1967 who go do a job together and end up having sex. They fall in love and the rest of the movie is about their hardships. They get married and have kids but they always really want to be together. I know must of the straight guys reading this are like..."This sounds terrible." But trust me it's a well done movie with a good script. By the end of the movie i really did care about the two characters. Particularly Heath Ledgers character. The acting was superb and everyone in the film was excellent.

The only complaints i have about the film is the first time they got together seemed really unrealistic to me and it took me quite a while to believe that they were really into each other. Once the story developed longer i wasn't as bothered by it but it basically the only complaint i have. If you aren't a homophobe, you will probably like it.

Great film, but I don't think I will ever be able to get the scene with Ledger spitting into his hand out of my head. It wasn't so much the act after the hand spit as it was the spitting in the hand itself. He had such a determination in that spit. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some snot in there. Dude shot a loogie!
