Now this is a movie! In my opinion best movie of last year. Ok i have yet to see Milk or Doubt but i am going to very soon and will review those also. So far though this is my favorite movie to be released in 08. I drove to NYC to see this because it is in very limited release. I believe it is getting more of a national release now though.
Dan aronofsky is turning into a mother fucking beast. If you don't know about him you better ask somebody because he's one of the best directors out now. Ok well since you are reading this i will just tell you. Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain are his to most known films before this one. The fountain is in my top 5 favorites of all time. I love that fukin movie. So i kind of over hyped the Wrestler for myself because i was so excited to see it. For the first time this year a movie actually lived up to the hype.
The Wrestler is about an ex professional wrestler (played by Mickey Rourke) who is just trying to hold onto his life after everything has gone wrong for him. He still wrestlers but for little money and is endangering his life the more he does. This movie is about dealing with loneliness and growing older. His social life, his family and life his career are all in shambles and throughout the film he tries to put together the pieces.

After nearly 2 months since I saw, i still think about this movie. Mickey Rourke really poured his heart into this one and you can definitely see it. Just a great film.
